A Swanky New Restaurant Is Set To Debut Inside This Historic Miami Beach Theater
Secret Miami
The ultra-luxurious Queen Miami Beach will breathe new life to the Paris Theater, serving up Japanese cuisine with French techniques.
The iconic Paris Theater — a 1945 landmark recognizable in album covers & music videos by artists like Madonna, Jennifer Lopez and Ricky Martin — will reopen next month as an opulent restaurant and lounge by the Mr. Hospitality Team, the minds behind the beloved Baoli Miami and Marion.
Having undergone a $40 million redevelopment, the all-new Queen Miami Beach will bring a new era of extravagance, with elements of “over-the-top 21st-century splendor.” It’s located in the 5th street corridor of Miami Beach and is set to open its golden doors on February 2nd.
As for its striking interiors, the new eatery is designed by Carlos Rodriguez of ModPlay Studio, and features a sensational Mondrian wall, a custom mosaic handmade in Italy, sensual terrazzo floors, a curved Art Deco passageway and a Calacatta Viola marble bar. Original Paris Theater crown molding motifs have also been refinished in gold leaf.
Prepare to be wowed from the moment you enter and meet with a mid-century brass chandelier from J.T. Kalmar, as well as ever-so exquisite Lobmeyr chandeliers — famously unveiled at the Metropolitan Opera House in 1966.
And the most ornate of all is an LED-paneled dome ceiling in the main dining room that will transform, completing the nostalgic design that emulates opulence and allure.
“Being in the Miami market for over 15 years, and witnessing the city’s rapid growth, I saw an opportunity with the historic Paris Theatre to create an uber luxurious, selective, one-of-a-kind fine dining and nightlife destination,” said Mathieu Massa, owner of Queen Miami Beach. “Our goal will be to create the most beautiful, interesting, diverse, and fun mix of people possible, on any given night.”
The dishes, ranging from small plates to heartier main courses, are the true stars of the show. Helmed by world-renowned chef Julien Jouhannaud, known to oversee several Michelin-starred restaurants in New York, American classics are reimagined through a Japanese lens with a focus on wood-fired grilling at Queen.
A premier hand-selected butcher’s program revolves around high-grade American and Japanese wagyu and prime grass-fed beef, while sushi offerings are sourced from Japan and beyond.
On the second floor is an omakase counter that will peek out into the grandiose dining room below, catering to those looking for chef’s selection of delicately composed nigiri and traditional dishes.
There’s also an extensive cocktail program and world-class wine and champagne list that will offer a selection from exclusive labels and boutique producers, including a partnership with Louis XIII.
Queen Miami Beach will open Tuesday through Saturday, from 6pm until late, and is located at The Paris Theater at 550 Washington Ave, Miami Beach, FL 33139. For more information, click here to visit their website.
